International sales on eBay

How to cope with the products’ description in foreign languages for foreign markets

When, in the product fiche, there is no description in a given language (e.g. French) and the product is destined to be sold in a foreign market (e.g. eBay.fr), eDock takes the first description possible for this product.

e.g. eBay.fr

My products do not have a description in French.

The first description that eDock finds is in Italian

The listing on eBay.fr will be in Italian

Scenario A

I sell on foreign markets but I do not want to translate the descriptions of the products

How to do:

In the product fiche I insert as the first language English and as second language Italian

On every market the description will be read in English apart from in Italy where the clients will find the Italian description.

Scenario B

I sell on foreign markets, I do not want to translate every product description and I already have the product fiche in Italian (as the first language)

How to do:

In the product fiche insert the description in Italian and e.g. in English for eBay.uk.

Select the other languages pasting the description in English (even if you are going to select other languages such as German, French, Spanish, etc.).

The result is:

eBay.it = product description in Italian.

eBay.uk = product description in English.

eBay.de = product description in English (because eDock recognize the language preference but not the content of the description).

eBay.es = product description in English (because eDock recognize the language preference but not the content of the description).

eBay.fr = product description in English (because eDock recognize the language preference but not the content of the description).
